1. How can I reach Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport?

2. Which documents are requested for the journey?
To fly is enough to present to the check-in and the security control a valid identity card or a passport.

3. Which items are not allowed in the hand luggage?
Any items considered dangerous to security are not allowed on board, such as scissors, razor blades, knives, nail files, umbrellas with a metal tip, syringes and other objects that can be used as a weapon. Besides, guns, firearms and tools that shoot bullets, stun devices, objects with a sharp point or sharp edge, tools, blunt instruments, explosives and incendiary substances and devices are not allowed.

The EU legislation about the transport of liquids also disposes to bring on board liquids for a maximum of 1 litre divided into units of 100 ml, placed in a transparent re-sealable plastic bag that has to be shown to the staff of the security checkpoints.
Regional arrangements also limit the transport of pork fitted with oval health mark accompanied by a proper certificate issued by the official veterinarian of the establishment where you purchased it. Food with without this certification can be carried only if they have been purchased at the "sterile areas" (beyond the security checks) of the airport.

4. Which items are not allowed inside the registered luggage?
Explosives and incendiary substances and devices are not allowed on board.

Weapons and ammunition may be transported only if accompanied by a permit issued by the competent authorities.
Regional arrangements also limit the transport of pork which is fitted with oval health mark accompanied by a certificate issued by the official veterinarian of the establishment where you purchased it. May be taken with food pork without this certification only if purchased at the "sterile areas" (beyond the security checks) of the airport.

5. Is there a luggage storage in the airport?
The baggage storage is at the entrance of the main parking area of the airport, just in front of the air terminal.

6. Is there a porter service?
At Olbia Airport a porter service is not available, but there are several trolleys luggage not only at the main parking area but also al the arrivals near the baggage claim belts.

7. Who should I contact if I lose a bag or an object?
You should call the Lost & Found office, which is located in the sterile area, after security checks.

8. Can I bring weapons on board?
It is forbidden to carry weapons unless they are accompanied by a valid permit issued by the competent authorities.

9. Where can I ask for information?
At the arrivals hall in Olbia you can find the Information Office Ciaosardinia where you can receive assistance and information about flights and airport services, connections to and from the airport (bus, train, car rental, taxi, etc.), tourist information about Sardinia and any other useful information. At the information desk Ciaosardinia are also available to passengers a touch screen and a totem information which shows the main connections from the airport.

11. How can I connect to the Wi-Fi network at the airport?
Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport is one of the network hotspots created by Regione Sardegna, the regional government of Sardinia, with which you can surf through wireless technology and access to information and services contained in the portals of the Region and the websites of the host in absolute freedom.
Connectivity is available throughout the terminal. The service is completely free and can be activated without registration.

12. Is there an internet point at the airport?
No. At the Information Office Ciaosardinia, located in the arrival area, passengers can only print vouchers and boarding passes.

13. Where is the car rental?
All the car rental offices are located outside the airport, about 50 meters away from the arrivals.

14. How do I get to the train station?
The railway station is easily accessible by the bus lines n. 2 and 10, starting from the bus stop n. 3 at about 50 m from the arrivals hall of the air terminal. The timetables of the city buses are available at the following link:

15. How can I reach the port of Olbia?
You can reach the port of Olbia by the local bus n. 9.

16. How can I reach the city center?
You can easily reach the city center by the buses n. 2 and n. 10, starting from Olbia Airport at the bus stop n. 3 near the arrivals. You can see timetables of the local buses at the following link:

17. Where can I pick an unaccompained minor up?
Parents or persons delegated to the withdrawal of unaccompanied minors shall go to the arrivals area with an identity document.

18. Which documents are requested for the child to travel?
For domestic routes is simply requested an identity card. In order to cross the state lines within the EU, all the Italian minors must be accompanied by an individual travel document (passport, or if the crossed states recognize its validity, an identity card valid for foreign travel or an equivalent travel document); to cross the external state lines of the EU, and then go in the five countries that do not belong to the Schengen space, must be accompanied by a passport or a valid identity card.

19. Where do I pay the excess baggage?
At the appropriate office located in the departure area near the check-in desks.

20. How and where can I pay for the parking?
The payment for the parking can be made at the machines located at the entrance to the main parking or leaving the parking lot with the staff, in cash or by credit card.

 

21. There is a post office inside the airport?
No. The nearest post office is about 5 minute away by car from the terminal. Inside the airport there is a post box. Stamps available at the Olbia fly shop in the departure area.

22. Is there an ATM inside the airport?
Yes, at the departures and arrivals hall there are many ATM for BANCO DI SARDEGNA and BANCA INTESA SANPAOLO.

23. What can do I if I lose the identity document? Can I still leave?
In case of loss of your passport you should go to the police and contact your airline.

24. Is there a change office?
Yes, at the arrivals hall there is the Forexchange office, with seasonal opening hours.

28. Is there a reserved service for cyclists?
Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport has a dedicated box to cyclists within the P1 parking in front of the terminal. At the “Biker Point” there are a small bench equipped for bicycle maintenance and a library that provides the most interesting publications about Sardinia, with road maps and cycling guides.
